The Eagan City Council took part in groundbreaking festivities on August 2, for the first phase of the nearly 200 acre development the Minnesota Vikings and MVZ Ventures plan to open over the next several years. The first phase, the Minnesota Vikings Headquarters, indoor practice facility and an expandable 6,000 person stadium are planned for a March of 2018 opening.
Mayor Mike Maguire congratulated the Vikings ownership on its commitment to excellence and for helping to create visual new gateway to northeast Eagan. It continues, he said, a string of good news about developments in Eagan that includes Central Park Commons, Bell Laboratories, and Ecolab's expanded research and development campus.
“Today marks just the first of many more groundbreakings we hope will occur on this exciting 200-acre development,” said Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire. “The Vikings team headquarters and practice facility in Eagan opens up a whole new gateway to the northeast part of the city, and we are proud that this flagship franchise will now call Eagan home.”
